Feramic material is nothing new, It has been used in the farm industry since the 1940's. Feramic material was designed for use on tractors. Feramic material can hold a lot of torque or hold pulling a lot of wieght but it is poor choice for a car that you want to shift quickly. The Z stick trans has brass bulk rings that press against cones on the gears when you shift that slow the gear down and allow you to shift to the next gear. The higher you rev the engine the farther apart the next gear is and the longer it takes to slow the gear down to be able to physically allow the trans to go into the next gear. The heavier the clutch disc, the harder it is to slow the gear down since the clutch disc is always spinning with the transmission main shaft. You want the clutch disc to be as light as possible to make shifting the transmission easier and also to keep from wearing out the bulk rings in the trans. Of course if your not into racing and shift your trans with a pause between gears the feramic clutch would be fine.....If that is the case you might as well use a street (Organic) disc because it is much cheaper.
